The Horses in this applique are made up of several shades of either black, brown, dunn etc. what colour do you like your horses? The background of green grass, and a strip of blue sky is a good back drop for some fluffy white clouds. You also need to add some distant hills, and closer rocks. You may like to add some simple stitchery on the hills to suggest trees, and closer around the rocks to suggest grasses. To do this you could use a simple fly-stitch and french knots, or long stitches and beads. The addition of an embroidered small fleck of white in the eyes of the horses also adds life and sparkle to the eyes. Also the background was stippled, in a random quilting, which helps to flatten the background, and bring the horses forward in the picture. HORSES PATTERN IS $19.95 AUD We pride ourselves on providing colourful original designs, that are fun to do. This fusible applique pattern used fusible webbing sometimes called Vliesofix, or bonding web to fuse the separate pieces of fabric to the background. It is then machine appliqued or sewn by hand using embroidery stitches like blanket stitch or button hole stitch. Using basic patchwork for the background and borders, the wall hanging is then appliqued and quilted. We like to add optional embroidery using bead embellishments on our quilt patterns to add an extra creative touch. Our patterns are ideal for textile art backgrounds, as the optional embroidery, can be as much or as little as you like. Finally the finished wall hanging is quilted, often using a random stippled quilting. For beginners we have a how to applique section in our website.
